Fling in Slingapore

3 weeks in Kuala Lumpur was all I was able to handle so when one of my prospective new bosses asked me to come to the concrete jungle of Singapore, I left in a hurry. Always a pleasure to go to Slingapore especially with my old roomies in town. Anand looks peaceful and Rohini looks like Anand has been upto some mischief. I also learnt where to shop for furniture, courtesy the frequent redecorating habits of the Nadathurs. Went to INSEAD too, met up with Amit Akhelikar and recounted some of the old war stories of our frequent bouts of alcoholism. Incidentally there was no nostalgia being back in INSEAD. Also ran into the bachelor wolf pack, amidst a few making - flight rearrangements, postponing extra-curricullar activities, trading stock and firing people in his Bangalore facility. Jumbo seafood was wet so had sit inside though this time the pepper crab was not that great and the beef disappointing. The pressure from work to move to Singapore is getting significant, time to have a final one on one chat with my manager.

My fourth week of detox is well underway, even whiffs of alcohol are intoxicating. Not sure how long this is going to last but not easy especially when I am travelling and constant devillish taunts from friends. We finally have snow in Munich, I was sure we skipped a season. Six inches from the last weather report, not much to look forward to other than some practise for our Ski vacation. I have also noticed the frequency of global warming arguments in my otherwise scientificly ignorant friend circle to be peaking. Everyone seems to be an expert on weather change and its future ramifications. Even Bush seems to be taking some notice with his State of the Union address.

For those of you that care, there is free WiFi in KL International airport- thus this post. More reason to rank this as one of the best airports in the world, anyone know of any other airports that offers this service? We completed 3 seasons of 24 in the second half of last year (pretty good especially with me not being in Munich for 3 months) and plan to spend this year watching a few seasons of Sopranos. Looking forward to some blood and gore..

More when I am back in Muenchen..

Life away from home

Happy Birthday CHINAMMA!!

So far this time KL is not much different than last time I was here other than me seeing the insides of the gym more often. That too primarily because one my collegaues overindulged over christmas and thus I have a gym partner. We even coined a new term for the cross trainer, pussymachine, as he thinks its not hard enough for his strong german limbs!

Work is less stressful than last time but next week will be worse. New changes at work in Munich, not quite sure what is in store for me but whatever dude! I still have 3 weeks vacation from last year that I need to finish before the end of March so as part of the first installment we are off for a Ski vacation with some friends to Switzerland for a week, very european ain't it? Will be going for the 3GSM fair in Barcelona in February so plan to extend it by a few days and soak in the warm catalan sun a bit.

My present to myself this year is going to be health, I am detoxing for the first few months of this year and perhaps even become vegetarian for a few months. Wifey thinks its all talk and no muscle but time will tell, I plan to continue my alcohol depravation till easter when I meet my parents in Nigeria. I must admit my newly adopted lifestyle is proving to be unsocial, especially killing time in KL is proving to be challenging!! I have also managed to give up sugar in my tea and that still hurts.

Cambodia pics are up!
